The third annual tournament will take place from 1-5pm on Sunday, September 30 at Skinner park, 1331 West Adams St., in Chicago's West Loop. It will be jointly hosted by the Korean American Coalition of Chicago (KACC), Chicago Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP-Chicago) and the Asian American Chicago Network (AACN), and open to all ages. No previous knowledge of kickball is required to participate.

Cost will be $30 per person if purchased in advance, or $35 at the door. Tickets will cover tournament entry fees, an all-you-can-eat BBQ cooked by on-site volunteers, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Individuals wishing to spectate, rather than play kickball, are still encouraged to stop by and enjoy food, friends, and fun times. Those looking to purchase general admission tickets beforehand can register here.

Teams wishing to participate must be coed, and players may sign up individually or as full or half-formed teams. Standard team sizes are ten people, including a minimum of four females. Those groups as small as eight must have a minimum of two females playing, and teams as large as 15 participants (with ten playing at any one time) must have a minimum of four female players. There will be an enforced rule of two females batting for every three males. The winning team, like last year’s TAP-Chicago’s Typhoon Dragon Boat Team, will receive a trophy.

Last year over 80 people attended, and tournament organizers are expecting even more this year. Organizers have stated that the tournament itself began as a way to bring together the local Asian American community. Female participation and inclusiveness was further encouraged with the required coed rules.
